How I Can Help

Skier climbing a snow-covered mountain peak.

Life’s challenges can feel overwhelming, and mental health stigma can cause us to feel alone in our struggles. I’m here to talk about all of it: your fears and insecurities as well as your passions and desires.

I believe that our emotions provide us with important information. Let’s work together to identify the positive intent behind your patterns and explore other ways of coping that bring you closer to the life that you want.

  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)

My Techniques

I tailor treatment to each individual client. Here are some therapeutic techniques I use most often.

  • ERP is a type of evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy used to treat OCD and anxiety. ERP is often effective in 12-15 sessions.

  • IFS views the mind as being divided into distinct parts. These parts serve to protect you from pain, distract or soothe you, and often hold on to difficult past experiences. In IFS, we work compassionately with each part to better understand its role and, when necessary, help it to let go of fear, pain and trauma to make space for you to live more freely.

  • I-CBT helps us identify the obsessional doubt that is at the root of OCD. By gaining a better understanding of the reasoning OCD uses, we can then shift our focus to the here-and-now evidence that contradicts our OCD worries.

  • Sometimes the stories we tell ourselves keep us stuck. I use narrative therapy to help clients identify alternative stories that allow for personal growth.

  • We often try to ignore our negative thoughts, which only gives the thoughts more power. Through Acceptance & Commitment therapy, I encourage my clients to acknowledge their thoughts and feelings, rather than avoiding them. Together, we identify their personal values and make a plan to pursue what matters to them.

  • I use prolonged exposure therapy to help my clients heal from trauma by gradually exposing them to trauma-related memories and situations in a safe, supportive environment.
